The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) starts tomorrow, June 2, and will welcome in-person and virtual guests for screenings, music, arts, and panels through June 6.
One of the features that will interest you is the virtual screening of RITA MORENO: A GIRL WHO DECIDED TO GO FOR IT, which celebrates the life and courage of the Puerto Rican born actress who accomplished so much and opened the doors for so many Latinas after her. The in-person event is sold out, but you can pre-order virtual access for Sunday, June 6, for $10. The link will be good for 18 hours starting at 5 am on June 6, and you’ll have 24 hours to watch it in full once you begin.
A highlight of the festival is the early screening of IN THE HEIGHTS. Unfortunately, it’s already sold out. But that is just one movie out of a long list of films representing the work of Latino writers, directors, and actors from several Latin American countries – including Panama, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru – and from the United States.
Visit this page to see the many options and to purchase tickets. Enjoy this fabulous week of Latino stories!
