Miami is a city known for its vibrant arts scene, and tomorrow, March 16, 2023, it will welcome a new addition to its impressive collection of murals. A mural of Salsa artists will be unveiled in the city at the corner of 19th Avenue and Calle 8 paying homage to the rich culture and history of Salsa music. This will be a free event, starting at 2 pm, open to all.
The mural features several iconic Salsa musicians, including Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, and Ruben Blades. The artists are depicted in vibrant colors, surrounded by musical notes and instruments that capture the energy and rhythm of Salsa music.
This mural of Salsa artists is a testament to the enduring legacy of this music and its impact on Miami’s cultural landscape. It celebrates the musicians who have helped shape the genre and honors their contributions to the city’s arts and music scene.
The artwork was created by Miami-based graffiti/mural artist Pedro Aguiar, also known as CYST1, who boasts over 25 years of experience and a range of different art forms, from spray paint to acrylic and oil to chalk and ink painting, and works on everything from canvas to walls, cars, boats, and even aircrafts.
If you are near Miami’s historic Little Havana neighborhood, make sure to attend this event. The unveiling of the mural promises to be an exciting opportunity to celebrate Miami’s rich cultural heritage.
