Boleros de Noche presents ‘La Marisoul and the Love Notes Orchestra’ at The Ford

Ánimo Production has announced the 6th annual Boleros de Noche concert, to be held August 6, 2022, at 8 pm, at The Ford.

Curated by Oaxacan immigrant Roberto Carlos, the event will celebrate the history of the Latin American Bolero, a music genre that features the guitar, the complex instrumentation of a requinto (a smaller guitar typically tuned a fifth higher than a standard guitar), romantic lyrics, and lush harmonies. Bolero is considered by many to be the most romantic genre out of Latin America. It originated in Cuba in 1883 but gained international notoriety in Mexico in the 1940s.

‘La Marisoul and the Love Notes Orchestra” is the invited guest. La Marisoul, whom you may know as the lead singer of the Grammy award-winning band La Santa Cecilia, will perform with an 18-piece big band orchestra, therefore providing striking arrangements to a curated selection of classics. Among these classics are “Dream a Little Dream,” “Oración Caribe,” and “Nuestro Juramento.”

The group will also be performing songs off the ‘La Marisoul and the Love Notes Orchestra’ Vol 1 & Vol. 2’ albums, inspired by legendary artists such as Olga Guillot, Toña La Negra, and Ella Fitzgerald. These albums, by the way, were produced by La Marisoul herself.

Tickets into the show range $55 to $95 available HERE. The Ford is a 1,200-seat outdoor amphitheater situated within the Cahuenga Pass. No seat is further than 96 feet away from the stage. The venue is located at 2580 Cahuenga Blvd. East, Los Angeles, CA 90068.
