The fifth annual Boleros de Noche concert has been announced for Aug. 21, 2021, at The Ford, with performances by Guatemalan artist Gaby Moreno and LA’s trio romantico Tres Souls.
Gaby Moreno crafts songs (in four languages) influenced by blues, jazz, soul, and R&B. She has shared the international stage with respected artists like Bono, Andrea Boccelli, and the Buena Vista Social Club.
The concert will start at 8 pm, with Tres Souls, led by vocalist Rocio Libertad, performing bolero classics like “Sabor A Mi,” “Piel Canela,” and “Historia De Un Amor.”
Boleros De Noche is a musical and cultural experience, curated by its founder Roberto Carlos, that seeks to preserve, uplift, and celebrate Latin American bolero history in Los Angeles. Bolero music features the guitar, the requinto (a smaller guitar typically tuned a fifth higher than a standard guitar), romantic lyrics, and lush harmonies. It is perhaps the most romantic music genre of Latin America. The genre originated in Cuba in 1883 and gained further international notoriety when it reached Mexico in the 1940s.
