Written by Manny Cruz and Frank Ceara, with arrangements by Edwin Garcia, “Yo Quisiera Ser” [I’d Like to be] is a lively merengue performed by Manny Cruz and Miriam Cruz. Same last name, but no relation, you may recognize Miriam Cruz as the lead singer of the popular merengue group Las Chicas del Can. Both artists proclaim it an honor and a thrill to have worked with one another in this project.

The video is cute (almost made me cry, actually) featuring Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2014, Kimberly Castillo, as it tells the story of a couple that remains together from youth to old age. It was taped in Santiago de los Caballeros, directed by Luis Gomez.
