Encouraging us all to rise, at a time when it’s tremendously important to do so, comes POWER, the new song by Los Angeles Salsa band – Orquesta La Verdad.
POWER calls on Latinos, Asians, and Blacks to rise, to be amigos, to be patient, to give back, and to the white community to use their “privilege to do right by others.”
The lyric video (which you’ll find below) starts with a quote by MLK, Jr.:
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
It ends with a nice and true adage (often misattributed to Alexander Hamilton):
Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.
It’s a wonderful song, with a motivational message, produced by Arturo Solar and Gabriel Gonzalez, with both of their arrangements plus Matt Amper’s.
Musicians involved are Matt Amper on piano, Rigoberto Lopez on bass, Joey de Leon on percussion, Raul Pineda on drums, Arturo Solar on trumpets, Francisco Torres on trombones, Martha Gonzalez on vocals, and Gabriel Gonzalez as lead voice.
