The Conga Room to celebrate 20 years of Salsa with huge concert at Microsoft Theater

The Conga Room will host a year-long series of events to celebrate its 20th anniversary beginning with a Salsa concert that’ll headline Gilberto Santa Rosa, “El Caballero de la Salsa” (who is concurrently celebrating his 40th Year in show business,), Colombian band Grupo Niche, and salsa superstar Jerry Rivera, “Cara del Nino.”

The Conga Room opened in February of 1998 with Celia Cruz and throngs of Hollywood A-listers and continued at the storied Miracle Mile location with Buena Vista Social Club, Tito Puente, Carlos Santana and more.  In 2008, the Conga Room relocated to LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles, across from the Staples Center. Co-owned by, Jimmy Smits, Jennifer Lopez, Paul Rodriguez, Trevor Ariza, Baron Davis, Amuary Nolasco and Sheila E, the Conga Room continues to support a diverse lineup including Prince, Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz and, of course, the best in Latin music.

“Over its two-decade run, The Conga Room has embraced and featured local, regional and national artists from all genres, including some of the biggest names in Latin music,” commented Brad Gluckstein, President/CEO of the Conga Room and Conga Kids, the Conga Room’s non-profit offshoot.  “We are excited to celebrate the first in a series of events celebrating 20 years in the music business with the most popular and important names in salsa today.  All of our performances over the anniversary year will highlight the Conga Room’s legacy on the cultural landscape of Los Angeles.  In particular,  this tropical show rightfully profiles our salsa heritage which has been the cornerstone of our brand since opening in 1998.”

The concert will be held at the Microsoft Theater, on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018. Tickets are on sale HERE
