New music – Daniel Baro y Son Candela’s ‘Tremendo Barullo’

We may have to stay at home more than usual these days, but that doesn’t mean that we have to be bored. To help you cope with your self-quarantine, pledges to bring you something new to listen to every day until COVID-19 tires down.

Our first offering is Daniel Baro y Son Candela’s TREMENDO BARULLO, an album with great music of various genres that include Salsa Cubana, Bachata, Merengue, and even a hint of rap.

Daniel Baro was born in Cuba, where he started his musical career. In 2011 he moved to Finland, where he began to work with various timba bands. Son Candela was founded in 2016 by Juhani Lampuoti and Mika Rytkonen, and it’s formed by several musicians both from Cuba and Finland.

TREMENDO BARULLO has nine original songs written by Daniel Baro and arranged in collaboration with Lampuoti. On the dance floor, I’m certain that you will enjoy “Guajirita Ven,” which you can listen to below, as well as “Conectate,” and the Bachata “Son Amores.” If you have an ear for Flamenco, you will also enjoy “La Seductora,” which is a fusion with Son Cubano.

The album can be enjoyed in full on Spotify.

Selections of it are now included in the VidaSalsera Playlist on Spotify. You’ll also find a direct link to it on this page’s right margin —->
