Several thousand L.A. residents heeded the call from Community Coalition to attend the 7th Annual South LA Power Fest. This event is a premier political music festival scheduled annually as a day of celebration, education and community empowerment.
Attendees enjoyed a day-long, family friendly festival with amazing live music, food trucks, health and wellness resources, art, and carnival attractions. This year’s festivities were held on The Peoples Lot, at the corner of Manchester Blvd. and Vermont Avenue.
The crowd was entertained by DJ sets by Queens of the New Age-Novena Carmel, Peezie and Moni Vargas, a dance performance by Contra-Tiempo, and musical performances by Earth Arrow, Aponte, Quetzal (with special guests Jarochicanos from Chicago) and Rapsody on the Main Stage.
