The date was February 23, 1992. At the request of Armando Castro, Sr., Johnny Polanco was given one week to put a band together to play on Monday nights. And thus, Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad was born, and with it the very popular Salsa Monday's at El Floridita. In honor of what would have been Johnny Polanco's 25 year Anniversary, this Monday is dedicated to Johnny.
